This is a great opportunity for a talented Chef who can run a small kitchen which turns out delicious food cooked using fresh ingredients. You should also have a good understanding of gross profit and the ability to negotiate the best prices for produce.
Based in Windermere, in the Lake District, our client offers luxurious rooms, bar and dining their guests and the Head Chef is key to the successful operation of this family-owned business.
They aim to offer a diverse choice of dishes, prepared from the freshest local Cumbrian produce, with seasonal twists that remind guests of the countryside location.
You may already be a Head Chef, looking for a change and somewhere to make your own mark or you might be an ambitious second Chef looking for a step up.
You get Sundays, Mondays and Christmas week off and your normal working hours will be Tuesday to Saturday 1.00pm to 9.00pm.
Your new job
* Hands on cooking and preparation using fresh ingredients.
* Catering for 20-30 covers.
* Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner service.
* Menu and specials.
* Costing and gross profit management.
* Negotiating with suppliers.
* Stock management and control.
* Food safety and health and safety.
* Supervising / working with a good talented Chef.
* Working straight shifts – 5 days per week.
* Days off are Sundays and Mondays.
Requirements
About you
* Head Chef or Second Chef.
* Demonstrable experience of turning out beautiful food.
* Use of fresh ingredients.
* GP savvy (essential!).
* Hard-working and committed.
* Good communicator.
* Hands on – it’s a small kitchen!

* Starting salary of £40,000 to £48,000 per year.
* Salary may be negotiable for the right person.
