Job Title: Head Chef Pub Location: Banbury Salary: £30,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time Company Overview: We are pleased to announce our collaboration with one of Banbury'svibrant and welcoming pub, due to re-open under new management in April.We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join their team and take ownership of the kitchen operations. Key Responsibilities: Menu Development & Execution: Design and create seasonal, innovative menus that reflect the pubs identity and appeal to a wide audience. Ensure the consistent preparation and presentation of all dishes to the highest quality. Stay updated with food trends and customer preferences to continually enhance the menu. Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service during busy periods. Manage all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, keeping all records up-to-date. Monitor food stock levels, placing orders with suppliers to ensure fresh and high-quality ingredients are available. Health & Safety: Ensure the kitchen operates in accordance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP and COSHH standards. Maintain proper food storage, handling, and preparation procedures to prevent contamination. Conduct regular health and safety checks and inspections, resolving any issues promptly. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the General Manager and front-of-house team to ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining areas. Participate in meetings with management to discuss performance, feedback, and areas for improvement. Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a pub, restaurant, or similar environment. Strong knowledge of traditional British cuisine with the ability to create and adapt modern twists. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a passion for training and developing staff. Sound understanding of food cost management, stock control, and budgeting. In-depth knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations (HACCP, COSHH). Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
