Summary
Experience what it's like to work with the National Trust's food and beverage team at the Dunham Estate! You'll lead a dedicated and large team to deliver delicious homemade food, cakes, and bakes to visitors across multiple outlets.

Hours: You'll work a 37.5 week, working any 5 days out of 7. Typically your shift will be between 8am and 6pm, offering a truly positive work life balance.
Salary: 32,000
Duration: Permanent
Interview date: 1st, 2nd & 3rd of April 2025
Potential start date: 1st of May dependent on your notice period

What you'll be doing
As Head Chef, you will be at the heart of our kitchen, a dynamic and creative hub. You'll:
* prepare mouth-watering dishes from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients as outlined in our ‘National Trust Cookbook'
* directly serve these culinary creations to our visitors
* foster a positive and supportive work environment by demonstrating empathy and providing support to team members
* ensure the highest standards of food hygiene and COSHH procedures, ensuring safety for all visitors, staff, and contractors
We provide comprehensive induction, allergen, and food safety training. Additionally, you can pursue further professional development if desired
Who we're looking for
* have professional head chef experience with a passion for food and a positive attitude
* are adept in menu planning, recipe adherence, and batch-cooking
* possess strong knowledge of health and safety compliance
* excel in people management, including setting personal objectives and conducting development reviews
* have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* have a strong understanding of budgets, such as increasing income and controlling costs
