The role
The role is quota-carrying and responsible for selling the MBG’s Professional and Managed Services to new and existing clients in one (or a combination) of industries. Industries within Cognizant include Banking & Financial Services (BFS), Insurance, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Retail, Consumer Goods, Travel & Hospitality (RCGTH) and Communications, Media & Technology (CMT). You will lead a virtual team from across the business by owning the sales cycle. This role combines the skills of “hunting”, “farming” and industry selling experience and is a high growth opportunity with excellent earnings potential by meeting and exceeding sales targets within a specific set of accounts.
Key responsibilities
1. Develop business by creating new and managing existing demand via various lead generation channels, including:
1. Cognizant account teams in existing and targeted accounts
2. Microsoft account teams in existing and targeted accounts
3. Leveraging your skills to break into “greenfield” accounts (new logos)
2. Functioning as an MBG industry “ambassador”, you will be setting the overall tone in delivering amazing experiences with everyone you interact with.
3. Taking the lead on pursuits and acting as the “conductor of the orchestra”, you will be coordinating the selling of the entire MBG services portfolio in partnership and collaboration with a wide stakeholder community, including:
1. MBG colleagues, including teams consisting of technical sales support, solutioning, alliances, project management, marketing, and executives
2. Cognizant colleagues within various account teams, service lines and market units
3. Microsoft Corporation account team members
4. Clients and prospects
5. Various partners, vendors and the greater community
Experience and skills needed to be successful in this role
1. Demonstrable experience selling professional and managed services to Enterprise Clients
2. Knowledge of Microsoft’s Ecosystem, including:
1. Enterprise on-premises, hybrid and cloud software and services portfolio, with emphasis across the entire Microsoft stack, including Azure, Dynamics365, M365, Data and AI, Security, CoPilot, etc. and Microsoft’s Industry clouds
3. Execution in a team-selling environment
4. Skill in “navigating” within a Global System Integrator
5. Creation and management of relationships with technology AND business decision makers, including the C-suite
6. Familiarity with leveraging channels
7. Knowledge of all facets of opportunity and account development & management
8. Deep understanding and management of complex solution sales cycles
9. Knowledge of/experience with structured sales methodologies, e.g., Challenger Selling
10. Deep experience in creatively overcoming sales obstacles
11. Bachelor’s Degree
12. Existing relationships with Microsoft local field teams and understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem is a plus
13. Digital Transformation industry specific experience is a plus
