Customer & Digital Services Service Desk Analyst Permanent Post 37 hours per week We are looking for a motivated, energetic person with a strong customer service ethos to join our Desktop Services team, which provides a diverse range of desktop support to 600 users for the challenges that are presented by staff at Warwick District Council including Councillors with their use of ICT. Warwick District Council utilises ICT for the benefit of its customers to support almost every aspect of its work. As part of the Desktop Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the use of these technologies is maximised through the timely provision of fault resolution, support, advice and guidance and the investigation and specification of new technologies. You will be required to work closely with other teams within ICT and liaise with external suppliers. As well as providing second line fault resolution support you will be expected to gain experience and knowledge to offer expertise in specialist ICT areas such as Office 365 administration, Cyber Security and System Centre Configuration Manager. The role requires the post holder to develop systems and procedures that can be implemented Council wide to improve efficiency. You Should hold a degree in an ICT related subject or be able to demonstrate substantial practical experience in developing, installing, and maintaining ICT networked systems and solutions in a Microsoft environment. Substantial experience of working in a customer service environment is also required. You should have: A good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and in particular Office 365 An understanding of network infrastructures An understanding of cyber security concerns and technologies Experience of configuring and implementing complex ICT systems and technologies such as Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, Entra etc. The successful candidate will require the ability to work as a member of the team however a percentage of duties will require self-motivated, autonomous work to investigate and implement new and complex technologies before providing knowledge handover to colleagues. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, have the ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a busy and pressurised environment. The position is currently offered on a hybrid ‘work from home / work in the office’ rota. Most weeks will be split between some days working from home and some days working from the office however flexibility in this aspect is essential. The office location is the Council Administrative Headquarters building in Warwick. The successful candidate will be offered appropriate equipment but must have a fast and stable internet connection and a home environment suited to full time home working when required. The role can be undertaken solely from the office building if home working is not appropriate.
