Job Introduction
As a Head Chef at Sodexo in Swinton Barracks, your culinary expertise and leadership excellence will manage an entire food and beverage production. What you’ll do:
1. Lead the culinary operation & provide support for the production team.
2. Direct the preparation/duties to the sous chef, commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff.
3. Arrange on and off duties for all staff, ensuring that your team has a great work/life balance.
4. Ensure strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems and monitor sanitation practices to ensure that kitchen staff follow standards and regulations.
5. Function menu planning.
6. Follow a set military dining menu and manage the weekly rotations.
7. Improvisation and maximize the use of existing stocks where necessary.
8. Manage stock, oversee meal presentation, and liaise with the client for requests.
9. Work with the FOH management team to drive service excellence.
10. Ensure your team is fully trained and refreshed regularly to the client/Sodexo's standard.
What you bring:
1. NVQ lv 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
2. IT skills, great technical communication, and Microsoft packages experience.
3. Vast knowledge of food production methods.
4. Extensive knowledge of allergens and the impact/awareness needed.
5. Impeccable leadership skills.
6. Attention to detail and thoroughness.
7. Ability to monitor your own performance and that of your colleagues.
8. Ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure.
9. Ability to organize your time and workload.

Package Description
40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7, between 06.00 - 19.30, £14.01 per hour. Full uniform and training provided, annual leave April - April 20 days per calendar year which increases with service.
