A prestigious Girls’ School in Richmond is seeking a dedicated and creative Drama Teacher to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. The Drama department is a well-resourced and collaborative team, dedicated to delivering engaging and inspiring lessons. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Drama lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on GCSE curriculum requirements. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of dramatic techniques, theatre studies, and performance skills, including acting, improvisation, and stagecraft. Facilitate student-led performances, workshops, and productions, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and practical application of skills. Assess student progress through performances, presentations, written work, and participation in rehearsals and productions, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Drama curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current industry trends and best practices in drama education. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as drama clubs, rehearsals for school productions, and participation in theatre festivals, to enhance student learning and provide performance opportunities. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field. Experience teaching Drama to GCSE level, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and performance skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. A passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in young women through drama. Experience in directing school productions and working with students of diverse abilities.
