We at Chefs Bay are recruiting an experienced Sous Chef for a location based in Crowborough. This role is a fixed term contract with an immediate start available for a period of up to 8 months to cover maternity leave.
Our client is a hospital that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions.
The Hours:
37.5 hours per week any 5 days out of 7, 8 hour days with shifts between 06:30-18:30.
Pay: £18ph + holiday pay = £20.17ph
Essential: an Enhanced DBS is required for this role, if you do not have one then you must be happy to obtain one
The Role:
* Fixed-term opportunity for a creative and passionate Sous Chef
* To assist the Corporate Catering Manager and Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring that the food is prepared and served to a high-quality and standard
* Assisting with the menu planning and preparation
The Candidate:
* You will be a passionate and proactive individual, with excellent communications skills to help build those all-important and respected relationships with our patients and your colleagues.
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
* Excellent cooking skills and a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
* Knowledge of best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
* City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or equivalent experience.
* Level 2 food hygiene or higher.
* Ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team environment.
* Good IT skills.
* Proactive and forward thinking, with a passion for continued learning.
