Established in 2020, we acquired our first venue in May 2021 and now operate 9 venues in Norfolk. THE VENUE
The Queens Head Thurlton is a country pub located between Loddon & Beccles which sits at the heart of the village. There's a lively calendar of events including live music and quiz nights, plus a 30 cover dining room serving high quality fresh food.
THE ROLE
This role is initially a maternity cover for 6 months, however the successful candidate will be someone able to develop into an Assistant Manager role at another venue within the group over the next 6-12 months.
We're looking for a passionate, customer-focused team leader/duty manager to work with the General Manager and play a part in driving the business forward, placing it firmly at the heart of the community.
You'll be the face of the business helping to maintain & grow its reputation locally through your attention to detail. Responsible for sourcing & serving top quality local beers, equally adept at building local relationships, leading your team, and driving sales. Key roles will be:
1. Act as duty manager and deliver a service-led venue where patrons feel welcome at all times, whether they're visiting for a quick drink or there for the evening, live down the road or have traveled an hour to get there.
2. Maintain high bar & cellar standards, curating the selection of beers, ales & spirits available and ensuring their quality of serve.
3. Help to retain & maintain the strong, flexible and adaptable team with a focus on developing talent for the group's future sites and managing seasonal changes.
4. Work with the village stakeholders to ensure the pub is at the heart of the community, maintaining and developing a rhythm of the week that attracts from the wider catchment.
5. Meet the sales and profit targets for the business, managing suppliers & other contracts to maintain acceptable returns.
THE PERSON
1. At least 1 year of bar and cellar management experience in a similar style venue.
2. Customer-focused bar & restaurant supervisor.
3. Experience of working in a busy village pub, delivering consistently good quality food, drink, and service.
4. A creative mindset to growing sales and delivering consistent service.
5. An understanding of the local area (preferred).
6. Experience of working directly with business owners in a small yet growing business (preferred).
7. Desire to learn & develop your skills.
You'll be joining a strong team in a fun and relaxed environment, serving fresh local dishes and a drinks range sourced locally too. If you have ambition, there is also the opportunity to take on a bigger role in 6-8 months.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
