Join the Close Brothers Data Engineering team where you will lead on physical design of data warehouses and data platforms that support demands for business intelligence and analytics.
Working as part of the Data Engineering team, our ideal team member will have previous experience of implementing various data platform architectures, data lakes and data warehouses with excellent relationship building skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity
2. Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements
3. Implements physical database designs to support analytical data requirements for performance and availability
4. Designs, implements, and maintains complex data engineering solutions to acquire and prepare data
5. Investigates enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity
6. Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change
7. Assesses and analyses release components for input to release scheduling
8. Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
1. You have previous experience working in a business intelligence / analytics environment
2. You have a good understanding of how to query data from relational databases using SQL
3. You are competent in the use of CDC and ETL / ELT tools such as HVR and Informatica
4. You have experience of implementing various data platform architectures, data lakes and data warehouses
5. You work independently, showing excellent time management and organisational skills, delivering to agreed timescales
6. You build long lasting relationships with both internal and external customers
7. You collaborate openly and effectively across functions to deliver change
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
1. Have a strong background or experience in rectifications and customer harm treatment in remediation situations is highly desired. This position involves working with a virtual team, collaborating with cross-functional departments and third parties, managing business priorities, responding to regulatory outputs and ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of remediation strategies in which data is an integral theme and enabler.
