What will you be doing?
We are seeking a talented and driven Junior/Mid level Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining efficient data systems and pipelines that support our business objectives. The role involves working closely with data analyst teams to ensure they have access to clean and processed data, enabling them to construct comprehensive reports for clients effectively.
This is an exciting role for someone early in their career to learn about deploying production level processes in data engineering, within the context of helping clients within the energy sector to further the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, test, and maintain scalable data management systems
* Ensure systems meet business requirements
* Implement data pipelines that ensure efficient extraction of data from various sources, such as files, databases, APIs, etc. Standardizing formats for consistency
* Incorporate the latest advancements in data management systems and software development methodologies into the projects
* Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
* Create testing rigs to ensure quality control
* Collaborate with data analysts on project goals
What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
Required experience:
* Experience as a data engineer, software developer, or in a similar role
* Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
* Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
* Experience with cloud services (preferably Azure)
Useful/desired experience:
* Experience with object-oriented languages such as: Java, Python, C#
* Experience with structured and unstructured datasets

* A desire to use your skills within a mission-oriented team
* An eagerness to learn

* You are expected to demonstrate initiative in every aspect of your work and be creative in developing original solutions to problems
Commitment
* The nature of LCP’s work is such that it is sometimes necessary to work additional hours to meet deadlines. Whilst we encourage a healthy work-life balance, you may be expected to work some extra hours from time to time

* You are expected to manage your work effectively, initially with help from other team members, to ensure that you complete the work assigned to you efficiently and on time
