THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the role is to supply our Northern Europe customers with a quality technical hotline service. Ensure all requests are logged within the ticket system, ownership is taken until closure and a professional service is provided at all times.
Other secondary tasks will include but are not limited to:
1. WCS module testing
2. Training delivery to LTS Engineers
3. PLC code testing and writing to support U&E business
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide 24/7 coverage on a rotating shift schedule.
2. Offer professional telephone support to both internal and external customers.
3. Deliver professional online software support for PLC systems.
4. Manage the hotline ticket system for IT, Facilities, and Controls.
5. Oversee the support process in an integrated manner.
6. Work on ongoing issues to reduce call volumes.
7. Communicate effectively with senior management and support colleagues.
8. Maintain comprehensive support desk documentation.
9. Monitor trends and implement action plans to prevent issue escalation.
10. Take ownership of issues raised and ensure they are resolved or escalated when necessary.
11. Escalate unresolved problems to the next support level while continuing to manage the issue until resolution.
12. Review reports to identify recurring issues that require action through PLC/WCS teams or additional site training.
13. Assist with testing WCS modules in collaboration with the WCS team when needed.
14. Facilitate remote monitoring of key account control systems.
15. Attend sites during office hours as needed to support project work and training.
16. Monitor hardware for necessary upgrades, such as firmware, and highlight obsolescence to the U&E team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
1. Extensive Control system experience / knowledge (PLC, IT, Drives, Networks)
2. Materials handling / Automation
3. Experience of IT systems support
4. Experience dealing directly with customers / end users
5. Excellent communications skills
6. Ability to work as part of a team
7. Flexible to travel throughout TGW NE as required
8. Electrical Qualification to HNC Level
