TITLE: Learning & Development Manager DEPARTMENT: Human Resources REPORTS TO: Organisational Development Manager WORK PATTERNS: Full Time JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Learning & Development Manager (LDM) will lead on the designing and implementation of learning strategies, training programs, and the development of employees’ skills and knowledge within LLA and our external partners where applicable. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Developing and implementing learning strategies and programmes. • Carrying out L&D capability assessments across the organisation, then designing blended learning solutions. • Delivering a range of learning interventions, including technical, behavioural and core skills. • Driving a culture of coaching and continuous professional development. • Developing strong and effective stakeholder relationships across LLA. • Maintaining budgets and relationships with vendors and consultants. • Create and execute learning strategies and programmes. • Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training). • Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings - using digital tools to create flexible and innovative learning programmes. • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities. • Assessing LLA’s need to deliver training to third parties and utilising the training academy to deliver this at a cost. • Help managers develop their team members through career pathing • Monitoring how effectively learning has been transferred to employees. • Build LLA’s professional network through relationships with HR professionals, colleges and other partners • Works closely with suppliers working with LLA within the Talent Development space • Design, Implement and deliver tailored L&D programmes for early careers talent, including Apprenticeships, Graduates and other entry-level initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Essential The learning & Development Manager will have: • BSc or Equivalent Level 6 qualification in Human Resources Management or a related field within L&D (Psychology etc) • Demonstrable experience of direct line managing. • Work experience at a L&D Management level. • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices • Experience in designing, creating and implementing L&D strategies. • Demonstrable experience of delivering high volume training • Experience of transforming L&D practices and development of tools/processes. • Experience in applying internal EDI approaches to recruitment • Well organised, flexible and able to manage competing demands. • Diligent, focused and driven to deliver at pace. Desirable • Experience with Early Careers programmes, such as Apprenticeships and Graduate schemes • Professional certification (e.g. CPLP)
