The Ebrington Hotel is now seeking to recruit a Conference & Events Manager for their premises, Ebrington Square, Derry-Londonderry:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
The Events Sales Executive will be responsible for driving growth in weddings, events, and conferences at the Ebrington Hotel. This role requires a dynamic and proactive leader who can develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets across all sectors, ensuring the hotel remains a top destination for events in the City. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to create first-class events & truly memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales:
o To promote all the hotel’s facilities to each of the hotel’s market segments.
o To achieve maximum sales revenue with particular emphasis on new Business Groups and new Conference business.
o To solicit business by generating and following up leads with hotel show rounds, attending industry events organised by the hotel or where the hotel has a need to be represented.
o Develop and execute strategies to maximize sales across weddings, events, and conferences.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to enhance the hotel’s reputation and attract new business.
2. Event Planning & Management:
o Work with clients to understand their vision and needs, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure their event is executed flawlessly.
o Plan and coordinate all aspects of events, from initial enquiry to execution, including liaising with internal departments and external vendors.
o Create detailed event proposals and contracts, ensuring clarity on all aspects of the event.
o Manage budgets effectively, ensuring profitability while maintaining high standards of service.
3. On-the-Day Coordination:
o Be available on-site during weddings and important events to ensure the seamless delivery of services.
4. Reporting & Administration:
o Maintain accurate records of all events, including contracts, budgets, and client communications.
o Prepare regular reports on event performance, including financial outcomes and client feedback.
o Ensure own function operates within cost restraints.
o Maintain effective correspondence with all accounts and departments within the hotel.
o Communicate guests’ requests to all departments in an effective and timely manner.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in sales, desirably in an event management role.
* Strong business development skills with a track record of achieving targets.
* Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple event enquiries and bookings simultaneously.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required.
* Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to events.
