An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef at the Award winning Three Mile Pub and 4 star Great North Hotel, in the heart of Gosforth. If you're a natural leader with a passion for the industry and creative flair in the kitchen, then you might just be what we're looking for.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the kitchen team, including hiring, training, and scheduling
2. Create and execute seasonal menus that showcase creativity and culinary expertise
3. Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
4. Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control to maximize profitability
5. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
6. Collaborate with management to develop promotional events and special menus
7. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant / Hotel
2. Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
3. Strong leadership and communication skills
4. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple menus
5. Creative flair and passion for culinary excellence
6. Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
