Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fresh food cooking and a genuine enthusiasm for creating delicious, high-quality dishes. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintain our high standards, and contribute to the creation of new and exciting menu items.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals.
2. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to our standards and procedures.
3. Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stocking of supplies.
4. Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and consistency.
5. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
6. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine menu items, focusing on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
7. Monitor and manage kitchen equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
8. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a pub or restaurant with a focus on fresh food.
2. Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
3. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
6. Creative and passionate about food with a keen eye for detail.
7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
8. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
