The CRUK Cambridge Centre is seeking to recruit an Academic Training Manager to lead and oversee the management of the Centre's Training Programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to support one of the main strategic objectives of the CRUK Cambridge Centre: education. The Training Programme aims to create a culture of continuous inclusive learning and development for all members.
The Academic Training Manager is central to the continued success of the current portfolio including:
* Non-clinical courses: MRes+PhD.
* Clinical courses: MB+PhD, Clinical Research Training Fellowship, part-time MRes+PhD.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic development of these courses and will work in close collaboration with the Training Management Committee, Training Co-directors, CRUK Cambridge Centre Director, Director of Graduate Education for the Clinical School, and the Director of the Clinician PhD Programme. The Academic Training Manager supervises an Administrative Assistant who is an essential member of the Training Programme Team.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD (or equivalent qualification/experience) in a relevant scientific discipline, will be an experienced administrator, preferably in a Higher Education context, or may have a strong interest in researcher development.
Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present strategic ideas, policies, and complex information effectively. The role requires a high level of independence, flexibility, and the ability to quickly learn new information while meeting challenging deadlines.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance.
