Salary: Starting salary UH5 £28,081pa to £31,387pa increasing to a UH6 on successful completion of the apprenticeship
Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious individual who is passionate about digital learning and creative design to join the University’s Centre for Learning, Access and Student Success (CLASS). As an apprentice you will be working as part of the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Digital Capability Team, supporting the effective use of technology across a diverse range of academic programmes. You will also support the development of digital capability across academic staff and students, ensuring they have the resources, skills and knowledge to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Supporting a programme of digital skills development opportunities for staff and students.
* Develop and support the delivery of training sessions, including workshops, drop-ins and bespoke sessions for small or large groups and individuals.
* Create guidance and content to support training sessions and workshops including the creation of materials on the VLE (Canvas) to facilitate staff and student skills development.
* Create promotional content, such as training session descriptions, short videos, University intranet and social media posts to engage staff and students with training and development opportunities as part of the regular programme and special events.
* Engage with community groups to better support innovation and best practice in digital skills development.
* Assist with the testing, piloting and evaluation of new and emerging technologies that can support learning and teaching at the University.
* Collate and maintain data relating to key activities including training attendance data, feedback, and technology related surveys and questionnaires.
Skills and experience required
We are looking for an individual who has good organisational skills, shows attention to detail, and has excellent communication skills. You will be passionate about technology, showing a knowledge of using creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently with a good understanding of customer service. You will be self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills and undertake professional development opportunities.
Qualifications required
Educated with 3 A Levels or equivalent qualifications and GCSE Maths & English C/4 and above or equivalent.
What kind of training will you receive?
This is a 20 month apprenticeship programme where the successful applicant will undertake the Digital Learning Designer L5 apprenticeship with one of our training provider partners and will require 20% of their time (min 6 hours per week) off-the-job-learning to complete their training activities within the workplace. This is supported by a workplace mentor and your line manager.
Apprenticeship eligibility criteria
In order to meet the eligibility criteria, the apprentice should not previously have undertaken any training which would duplicate the training or assessment they will receive under this apprenticeship.
The University is required to meet UKVI visa regulations, and we are not able to sponsor for this position. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK will have to satisfy UKVI regulations before they can be appointed. You must have been a UK/EEA resident for the last 3 years.
