Aureos is currently seeking an experienced Rail Training Manager based at our E&P Rail Head Office In Crewe.
To manage both Sentinel and training systems, ensuring all primary sponsored staff receive the training needed for their current job roles and any upskilling is completed in a timely manner. Aureos operational training requirements are completed, and that employees/primary sponsored staff are suitably trained to the required standard.
Ensure all functions are compliant with RISQs, NSAR, and Network Rail standards. Also, oversee the day-to-day delivery of training, ensuring trainers and assessors uphold quality standards. Observations, CPD, and IQA are completed within a yearly timeframe.
Primary Tasks
* To fulfil the requirements of relevant Network Rail Standards, Sentinel Scheme Rules, and RTAS Rules.
* Ensure all relevant internal policies and procedures are followed at all times by the team, continuing to remain compliant in both RISQs and NSAR audits.
* Develop and mentor trainers/assessors so they maintain the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours to deliver training in line with business demand, NSAR, and Network Rail standards.
* Organise and lead quarterly standardisation meetings with the training department, monthly training meetings with resources, and other business units where applicable.
* Develop the proficiency of employees through the inspirational delivery of technical, safety, and vocational training interventions, using blended delivery skills and stimulating, high-quality material in accordance with Network Rail toolkit and standards.
* Lead the continuous improvement of the Training centre, internal quality procedures, and work instructions, demonstrating a personal commitment to continuous improvement so Keltbray Training offers both internal and external learners innovative training.
* Provide an exemplary level of learner-focused customer service to delegates, enhancing their enjoyment, engagement, motivation to learn, and value gained from the whole training experience.
* Deliver key business change messages and changes to standards so they are incorporated into training and assessment solutions as appropriate.
* Actively adopt a safety-first culture within employees and actively promote Keltbray values at every touchpoint to influence culture change within practical training and assessments.
* Develop and manage a programme of technical skills networks, observations, briefings, and assessments for training resources to improve the delivery of training and assessments. Work towards the implementation of new and enhanced training methods.
* Responsibility in ensuring the administration of employees/primary sponsored staff’s training records are kept up to date.
* Ensure the Group Training Systems remain up to date and information is collated and recorded.
* Ensure Internal Verification of training packs are completed, following an annual risk-based evaluation.
* Liaise with external training providers, educational establishments, professional bodies, and industry standards institutions to ensure the business remains at the forefront of training innovation and is recognised as an industry leader and purveyor of best practice.
* Making provisions for daily training enquiries.
* Ensure all auditable systems are up to date and functioning correctly.

* Inform clients/internal line managers of learner results.
* Collate and record learner evaluation forms for NSAR requirements.
* Organisation of trainer/assessor handouts and course material.
About You
* Internal Auditor: ISO 9001
* Internal Quality Assurance
* Several years’ experience within the Rail industry and a training role.
* In-depth knowledge of Sentinel Scheme Rules, RTAS Rules, and Relevant Network Rail Standards.
* Knowledge of the operational railway and overhead line construction principles.
* In-depth knowledge of Competence Management Systems.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Excellent planning and organisation skills.
* Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.
* Ability to work under pressure and work to tight deadlines while continuing to provide a quality service.
* Business Management / Leadership.
* Good understanding of safety, quality, and environmental legislations.
