We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist to join the ABL Group HR team in London on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. This is a challenging job with opportunities to grow your career, and we encourage any employee who is interested to apply for this role.
As our HR Generalist, you will provide comprehensive HR support to managers and staff on HR policies, employment law, and best practices. The key responsibilities include providing guidance on employee relations, promoting employee well-being, overseeing performance management, supporting regional staffing requirements, and ensuring HR compliance.
The successful candidates for this role should possess good HR knowledge, critical thinking skills, and professionalism to effectively handle sensitive issues.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves collaboration across the organization to enforce policies, enhance engagement, optimize productivity, and align with the company’s HR strategy. You will:
* Offer support to staff at various levels and advise line managers on different facets of employee relations and well-being, employee issues, grievances/complaints, disciplinaries, redundancies, dismissals, etc.
* Support various conduct/capability investigations ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations, investigating, and recommending appropriate actions/solutions.
* Manage maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, and long-term sickness leaves.
* Support line managers during the performance appraisal process, offering guidance related to employee performance management, identifying performance issues, and support in conducting performance review meetings, offering guidance to line managers on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). Implement and monitor PIPs.
* Develop, promote, and enforce staff regional policies and procedures.
* Maintain accurate employee records in the Enable HRIS system. Analyze HR data and prepare reports as requested by the management.
* Work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure data is processed on time, with a high level of accuracy, and in compliance with employment laws and regulations. Address employee concerns and queries related to payroll.
* Provide end-to-end HR support for legal entity establishment in European regions.
* Supervise and provide direction to HR Coordinators in their day-to-day tasks and projects, ensuring high standards are maintained and support them develop their skills and advance in their careers.
* Actively participate in HR projects and support ABL Group in the HR integration process in various new global geographies.
* Facilitate effective communication between employees and management, ensuring clear and transparent communication of company policies and procedures.
* Enforce company policies consistently and stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations.
* Always comply with the company’s HSEQ policies, manuals, procedures, work systems, and regulations at ABL premises.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate must have the right to work in the UK. This role offers a hybrid working environment (3 days/week in the office).
Please note the HR Generalist opportunity is a fixed-term contract for 9 months.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We are looking for an ideal candidate who is proficient in seamless communication across all organizational levels, and adept at working independently or collaboratively within a team. Demonstrates proactivity and keen insight. Be driven by results and resourcefulness. Exhibits a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
* Educated to a Degree Level (Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or similar).
* Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience as an HR Officer or similar experience working in the HR Domain.
* Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
* Demonstrates a strong level of professionalism and self-motivation, displaying keen attention to detail.
* Exhibits good oral and written communication skills in English.
* Possesses advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Outlook, and MS Teams) and HRIS system.
* Capable of organizing and prioritizing tasks efficiently, consistently delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.
* Demonstrates tact and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
* Displays excellent interpersonal skills, effectively communicating and building relationships with colleagues, employees, and senior managers.
