Sous Chef Responsibilities:
* Support Head Chef: Assist in daily kitchen operations, ensuring top-quality food preparation and presentation in a high volume kitchen.
* Menu Development: Help create and refine dishes, focusing on seasonal and innovative options.
* Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene.
* Staff Leadership: Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, fostering skill development and adherence to protocols.
* Oversee stock, control costs, and minimise waste for efficient kitchen operations.
Ideal Sous Chef:
* Strong background in cooking with experience in high-volume kitchens and a passion for fresh, quality ingredients.
* Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team, maintaining high standards and a positive work environment.
* Enthusiasm for developing new dishes and contributing to menu design, with a flair for creative, seasonal cuisine.
* Highly organised with strong multitasking abilities, capable of managing and controlling costs, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
