Senior Data Engineer – London [hybrid, 2 days minimum in office]

We are Compre, a leading legacy specialist with over 30 years of experience in the acquisition and management of discontinued and legacy non-life insurance and reinsurance business. Due to exceptional growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the Data & Technology team, to lead the development of our data platforms. This is an extremely exciting time as we embark on our digital transformation journey, where you will play a crucial role in optimising and improving how we leverage technology to efficiently ingest data into our systems.
Responsibilities
1. Develop robust tools to automate the onboarding of data into Compre’s systems.
2. Design and implement automated ETL pipelines to streamline the movement and transformation of data within our systems.
3. Develop master data management (MDM) solutions, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the organisation.
4. Ensure data is available and accessible for business intelligence (BI) and analytics tools.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable solutions.
6. Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices to enhance data processing and analysis capabilities.
7. Mentor and upskill the data team, providing guidance and training to foster professional growth, promoting a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Candidate Requirements
1. Solid experience developing automated ETL pipelines and data integration techniques.
2. Experience with MDM systems.
3. Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
4. Familiarity with data science workloads and techniques is advantageous.
5. Proven experience in mentoring and upskilling team members, with strong leadership and communication skills.
6. Problem-solving mindset and a passion for continuous improvement and optimisation.
7. Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies and industry trends.
