We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning and Development Manager to join our People team. This role will focus on developing and implementing learning strategies and programs, such as apprenticeships, to enhance employee skills, foster professional growth, and support organisational growth. The successful candidate will work closely with department heads and senior leaders to align learning initiatives with business objectives and create a culture of continuous development across the organisation. This is a remote role but will require monthly travel to our Torquay office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and evaluate the company’s learning and development strategy aligned with business goals.
* Conduct skills gap analyses and identify training needs across various departments.
* Ensure that learning initiatives are forward-thinking, scalable, and tailored to the diverse needs of employees.
* Develop and deliver engaging employee training programs (both in person and virtually)
* Oversee our apprenticeship strategy and ensure that apprenticeship providers are delivering on requirements
* Manage the full training lifecycle from inception to post programme feedback
* Design and promote career development frameworks to support employee progression
* In collaboration with HRBP establish and implement mentoring and coaching initiatives to develop talent and leadership across the business
* Oversee and optimise the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training delivery, tracking, and reporting.
* Have line management responsibility for internal Traffic Management trainers and assessors.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in Learning and Development, preferably in a managerial role.
* Experience in designing and delivering corporate training programmes, apprenticeships, graduate schemes and leadership development.
* Familiarity with learning technologies (LMS platforms, e-learning tools) and blended learning approaches.
* Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design principles, and best practices.
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification in Learning and Development desirable but not essential
* Additional certifications in instructional design, coaching, or L&D methodologies desirable
