About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative commercial Head Chef who will develop our business through excellent food standards.
The Head Chef is responsible for the kitchen team at the Folk Hall in York, providing freshly prepared, a wide variety of dishes for a high-quality, busy food outlet open 6 days a week alongside a developing events space.
The role will deliver operational management of the catering services in the Folk Hall and adjacent state-of-the-art care facility including all food management, adherence to strict food compliance, and achieving food GP%.
Building strong relationships with all of our stakeholders, including but not limited to residents, staff, the public, and the wider JRHT community, is a huge part of the role.
About you:
You will be looking for a challenge in a role that gives you autonomy to develop the food provision in both sites. You are obsessive about great food and customer service and will possess a minimum Level 2 Food Safety qualification and demonstrate progressive success in your cooking career. Appropriate catering qualification and relevant catering experience, leading and developing a team, and evolving processes to obtain efficiency and value for money are essential. Motivating and inspiring others will come naturally to you, and you will be able to show us a passion for food and customer service. Above all, a can-do attitude to the role is crucial. We never say no!
