ABOUT US Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box. We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people at the Millennium Dome. We were pioneers in electronic music and have a history of taking risks, innovation, and colourful and creative marketing. As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product, and we work hard as a team. We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride. In 2018, we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. The design is relaxed but functional with a bar, opening windows, an outside courtyard and plenty of space to sit, relax, work and socialise – everything you wouldn’t expect to find in a standard office. There’s great home cooked F&B, a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme. We are opening our second site at Westfield White City in early 2025. THE ROLE We seek a dynamic, hands-on Head Chef to join us at the best workspace in the world. You will take on our deli in Borough Road as we strive to be the number one deli in London. You will also be a key part of our new venue opening team and possess the passion and potential to progress as we open new sites. The next being our flagship in Shepherd’s Bush, opening early 2025. Ideally, you will have lead in a high profile restaurant and have strong creativity, culinary expertise and imagination. You are a passionate foodie with outstanding food knowledge and ability to demonstrate natural flair with a good palate. You will be a technically and commercially astute Chef with impeccable attention to detail and obsessive about perfecting the best quality product. You will take personal responsibility for the delivery of first-class cooking by the culinary team, ensuring that everything leaving the kitchen is delivered to the highest standards and delicious. From hot dishes to deli style ‘grab and go’ options, you will be passionate about every part of our offering. You will have a thorough understanding of margins, cost control and stock taking, persistently demanding an organised, impeccably clean and well-presented environment. You will be well informed of the latest trends and have a natural passion for unrivalled service and everything food and beverage. You will need to know how to motivate and develop people, and produce and manage, SOP’s, training plans and quality control processes. You will have the ability and track record to recruit, train, and develop a new peak performing pool of candidates, making necessary improvements to transform existing set up’s, as required. You will collaborate closely with the development team to create alignment between our lines, the front of house and all kitchen operations. Ensuring the highest quality across all our sites. You will be open to feedback and react quickly to improve our products and customer experience relentlessly.
