Job description:
A one-year role covering Training Manager and HR Assistant responsibilities, with potential to transition into a full-time HR Manager position combined with part-time Training Manager duties.
About Us:
Airbox is a fast-growing, innovative e-commerce fulfilment company dedicated to nurturing talent, fostering professional growth, and maintaining a positive, supportive workplace culture. Over the past eight years, we have acquired three UK-based warehouses and recently expanded into Europe, with ambitious plans for further growth.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our HR team in a dual role as Training Manager (Maternity Cover) and HR Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our learning and development initiatives while overseeing key HR functions in a dynamic and expanding organisation. As Airbox continues to grow, this role comes with substantial scope for career advancement, with the potential to evolve into a senior leadership position. We are looking for a highly motivated, aspirational candidate eager to grow alongside us and play a pivotal role in shaping our future.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Manager (Maternity Cover)
* Warehouse-Wide Training Rollout Management
Coordinate and implement training programs across the warehouse to support both employee development and broader organisational goals. Ensure smooth rollout by addressing logistical aspects, communicating schedules, and liaising with trainers and department heads.
* Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
Oversee the functionality, accessibility, and user experience of the LMS across the organisation. Manage LMS content, user access, and system updates to keep training materials relevant and easily accessible to employees.
* Data Analysis and Skill Gap Identification
Regularly analyse LMS data to assess employee performance, completion rates, and areas where skill gaps are evident. Design and update learning pathways and training modules to address these gaps effectively.
* Implementation and Evaluation of L&D Initiatives
Lead the deployment of training initiatives, ensuring they are engaging, practical, and aligned with organisational objectives. Conduct post-training evaluations to measure program effectiveness, retention, and impact on job performance.
* Collaborative Program Customization
Work closely with department heads and managers to tailor training programs according to team-specific needs, job roles, and career pathways within the organisation. Align these customised programs with overall organisational goals to maximise relevance and employee buy-in.
* Bi-Annual Staff Performance Reviews
Organise and conduct bi-annual reviews for staff, providing a structured opportunity for employees to reflect on and assess their own goals and progress toward success. Facilitate goal-setting discussions and provide feedback that aligns with both personal development and organisational objectives.
* Support in Pay Decisions
Assist in making pay-related decisions by contributing insights from training progress, performance evaluations, and development achievements. Ensure that compensation adjustments reflect both performance and skill development milestones, supporting fair and merit-based pay progression.
* Monitoring, Reporting, and Improvement of Training Programs
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement, completion rates, and learning outcomes for each training program. Prepare regular reports highlighting successes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending adjustments to enhance future programs.
HR Manager
* Oversee recruitment processes to attract top talent in warehouse operations, logistics, and customer service, ensuring a smooth hiring and onboarding experience.
* Manage employee relations within a high-paced fulfilment environment, fostering positive relationships and resolving conflicts effectively.
* Ensure HR policies, including health and safety protocols, are strictly followed to maintain compliance and a safe working environment for all employees.
* Develop and support initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention, with a focus on rewarding performance, enhancing workplace safety, and building a positive company culture.
* Collaborate with warehouse and operational managers to support performance management, including providing guidance on performance appraisals, goal setting, and employee development plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification preferred).
* Experience: Proven experience in HR and training roles within a fulfilment, logistics, or e-commerce environment; familiarity with warehouse and inventory operations is highly desirable.
* Skills: Strong organisational and interpersonal skills; adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HR practices, employment law, and health and safety requirements specific to warehouse and fulfilment settings; experience in developing training materials for physical and customer-facing roles.
