Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef/ Rota Chef to join our culinary team in Wrexham, United Kingdom. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and kitchen operations.
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management
* Develop and implement new menu items, ensuring creativity and adherence to our culinary standards
* Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
* Prepare and cook meals to the highest standards, maintaining consistency in quality and presentation
* Assist in budgeting and cost control measures
* Step in for the Head Chef when necessary, assuming full kitchen leadership responsibilities
Qualifications
* Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, including previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role
* Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management
* Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with current Food Safety Certification
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Proficiency in inventory management and food cost control
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Creativity and passion for culinary innovation
* Knowledge of various cuisines and cooking styles
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
