Key Responsibilities:
* Train and mentor line cooks in preparing and plating dishes for service.
* Keep the kitchen staff engaged and focused, minimizing idle time.
* Manage scheduling to ensure adequate coverage while monitoring labor costs and payroll.
* Prepare daily prep lists to ensure smooth operations.
* Expedite service to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
* Order products from a variety of purveyors while upholding our commitment to local sourcing.
* Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef in weekly meetings to create and implement new menu items.
Qualifications:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to listen, support, and guide team members.
* Patience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with sourcing local ingredients and managing multiple purveyors.
* Experience with scheduling and payroll management.
