Here at Harrods, we currently house more celebrity chefs and exclusive dining brands than any other location in the UK. As our Dining Hall Head Chef, you will be joining a passionate, supportive, and award-winning dining team, all within our iconic Knightsbridge store.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading your teams within our world-class Dining Hall kitchens. You will oversee the operation and organisation of the kitchen by setting daily production levels and guidelines, as well as delegating tasks to the team. You will demonstrate effective management by flexing between coaching and directive leadership while building effective relationships with support functions such as Food Halls, Restaurants, Food Safety, Distribution, Store Services, and HR.
Requirements
1. Strong track record of hospitality experience as a Head Chef, ideally with time spent within a high-volume environment at a prestigious 5* hotel or fine-dining AA Rosette/Michelin standard restaurant.
2. Experience within a grill restaurant and/or great knowledge and passion about meat and breeds of cattle would be highly advantageous.
3. Leading your team in The Grill restaurant.
4. Responsible for supporting the other outlets in the Dining Hall where needed.
5. Great time-management skills, experience working with large kitchen teams, and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties.
6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as you will be interacting with other business areas in your day-to-day tasks. You’ll ensure good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of the department, and sufficient stock levels. Having good PC literacy is a must (Word, Excel, and preferably SAP).
