Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama Teacher to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport, Manchester. This full-time position will commence after Easter to cover a long-term absence. The school is known for its strong commitment to the arts, its inclusive learning environment, and its high academic and creative standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role will involve inspiring students to develop confidence in performance, creativity in expression, and a strong understanding of theatrical techniques.
* Plan and deliver engaging and creative Drama lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Drama, including performance skills, script work, improvisation, and theatre studies.
* Encourage students to explore their creativity and develop confidence in their performance abilities.
* Support students in preparing for assessments and examinations, ensuring they meet coursework and practical performance requirements.
* Organise and direct school productions, showcases, and extra-curricular Drama activities.
* Foster a love for the performing arts through an inclusive and inspiring teaching approach.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to aid development.
* Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports student learning.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Performing Arts department to share best practices and enhance the curriculum.
* Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and carers regarding progress and performance opportunities.
* Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Drama at Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Strong subject knowledge of Drama, including performance techniques and theatre studies.
* A passion for the performing arts and a commitment to fostering creativity in students.
