Aramark UK is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join our fantastic team at Combermere Barracks, Windsor, SL4 3DN
This is an exciting, permanent and full-time opportunity reporting into our Head Chef on site and you will work as part of the team to support in the very busy kitchen and deputise when the team is off. As a Sous Chef, you will support with the running of the kitchen, paperwork and orders to ensure we meet objectives and client expectations.
Aramark provides world-class contract catering services to our extensive list of clients across the UK, including Defence and Judicial, private industry and Education. We are very lucky to have some of the best Culinary and Catering talent that the UK has to offer working within our teams.
Full high security government vetting required prior to start which can take around 6 weeks.

A day in the life of a Sous Chef:
- As a Sous Chef you will be expected to run various sections in the kitchen and will be responsible for executing all dishes produced to a consistently high standard. Being a team player is important and you will be expected to help lead the junior team members in developing their ability and knowledge of a professional kitchen environment.
- Preparing, cooking and presenting food in line with required standards
- Making sure that food is served promptly
- Monitoring food production to ensure consistent quality and portion size
- Assist in maintaining a 5 star hygiene rating
- Stock control, stock order and budgeting
- Following relevant hygiene, health and safety guidelines
You'll be set up for success if you have:
- Good standards of culinary skills, presentation, and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and being able to keep calm in stressful situations
- Be able to step up to Head Chef when required to do so
- Adhere to and maintain Health & Safety, EHO and HACCP standards and procedures
- Have an understanding of Stocktakes and GP%
