Our client, a charming family-run business in Sittingbourne, is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join their vibrant restaurant that specialises in brunch, lunch and afternoon tea.

Position Overview
As the Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
Working closely with the Kitchen Manager, you will assist in menu planning, inventory management, and collaborating with local suppliers to source fresh ingredients.
Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment while mentoring and guiding the kitchen staff.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service.
2. Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating locally sourced ingredients.
3. Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
4. Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to minimise waste and control costs.
5. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
6. Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
7. Collaborate with local suppliers to source fresh, high-quality ingredients.
8. Assist in the preparation and execution of special events and workshops.

1. Experience in a professional kitchen, with a proven track record of success.
2. Passion for creating exceptional dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
3. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
