WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Reporting to the Executive Chef; the Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, from menu development to food preparation and plating standards. You will lead, inspire, and mentor a team of dedicated kitchen staff, maintaining the highest quality standards in food safety and presentation. This role is ideal for a chef with a creative flair, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. DUTIES Design and update menu items with a focus on [e.g., seasonal ingredients, unique flavours] Accountable for product consistency and dish presentation management Supervise and train the kitchen team, promoting a positive and efficient working environment Ensure all dishes meet our high standards for quality and presentation Working alongside the Executive Chef for kitchen recruitment, training, return to works, chef development and appraisals Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control to maintain budget targets Oversee kitchen hygiene and compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house team for seamless service Continuously innovate with the Executive Chef to keep our menu exciting and fresh This is not a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday role so working in the evening, at weekends and on public holidays is expected. Assign tasks to team members and maintain daily checklists to support expected business levels, production, orders, special requests, events, dietary restrictions, and allergy procedures. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Minimum 5 year’s experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel setting or brasserie-style concept. Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and culinary trends Excellent leadership and communication skills Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards Experience with budgeting and cost control You’re not precious.
