For our soon to be open restaurant near London Victoria Station we are looking for a Sous chef (Available from May 2025)!
The concept
Nestled in the heart of London, our location is more than just a restaurant or bar; it’s a mindset that embraces balance between work and life. Here, time slows down, but your ambitions are still welcome, because we believe life is too short to be busy without purpose.
Enjoy small plates crafted to energize you without disrupting your flow, and let our drinks guide you from midday inspiration into a leisurely evening. So come, and embrace the art of doing nothing.
Our restaurant will be a place for breakfast and all day dining. The kitchen and bar are working together very closely since there is an open kitchen bar that runs through the restaurant. The restaurant will be serving an all day food menu that consists of creative and high quality dishes to share (or not). The all day dining menu plays tribute with a playful spin on British Classics where dishes are uncomplicated, true to their ingredients and have a real punch on British produce.
Next to a restaurant and bar, the location offers three 8 pax meeting rooms and a deli.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high-quality standards, and maintaining a smooth kitchen operation.
Main responsibilities:
* Assist in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
* Supervise kitchen staff and ensure efficient workflow.
* Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
* Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
* Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff.
* Ensure consistency in food quality and portion control.
* Support in managing kitchen costs and minimizing waste.
The Sous Chef must have:
* Culinary Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a supervisory role.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and train kitchen staff effectively.
* Menu & Recipe Knowledge: Strong understanding of food preparation, presentation, and flavor combinations.
* Food Safety & Hygiene: Familiarity with HACCP standards and best practices in kitchen sanitation.
* Inventory & Cost Control: Experience in stock management and minimizing food waste.
* High-Pressure Environments: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining quality standards.
* Flexibility & Adaptability: Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. A formal culinary education or relevant certifications are a plus but not always required. Passion for food and strong organizational skills are key!
What’s in it for you?
* Competitive salary, depending on your experience.
* Attractive benefits package, including an attractive bonus scheme, pension and health care.
* Personal Growth: We invest in your personal and professional growth with personalized training opportunities.
* Me-Time and Community Day: Enjoy a dedicated day for self-care and another day of community engagement.
* Hotel & restaurant perks: Enjoy daily closing drinks, exclusive employee rates for stays at our hotels and a Friends & Family Rate, so you can share the joy with your loved ones. Besides our own locations we also offer the "Hotel Employee Rate", where you can explore the world with discount rates for other hotels.
* Team drinks, events & outings to (never) forget!
