Sous Chef - Bournemouth - Mon-Fri - £14.50 per hour - Spread Over Pay
Hours: 40 hours per week / 46 weeks Contract - Overtime available during holidays (Monday - Friday - Daytime hours)

You will be part of a large team providing fantastic fresh food and drink on offer for the students and staff. In addition to a busy restaurant, you will also cater for a hospitality service including working lunches for meetings.
Welcome applicants with previous Sous Chef experience, ideally within a contract catering environment. Must have a proven track record of training, developing, building, and motivating a team. Experience cooking to company menus and amazing knowledge of allergens is a must-have for this role!

Responsibilities
1. Ensure food production, standards, costs & menu planning are carried out in a timely fashion, as agreed with the Head Chef.
2. Carry out the smooth and efficient running of the section as appropriate.
3. Assist the Head Chef with compiling food orders and developing new food concepts.
4. Plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by the company and the client.
5. Ensure that the company's reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers.
6. Assist the Head Chef in the implementation and monitoring of all departmental training & development plans.
7. Control stock management, production levels, and portion control to achieve and exceed budget targets.
8. Manage the departmental budget to support the kitchen team, by providing appropriate tools and resources.
9. Have a thorough understanding of all current Health & Safety, HACCP, COSHH, and Food Safety regulations.
10. Maintain and encourage in others the strictest hygiene disciplines.
11. Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as required.
12. Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by a member of the management team.
