Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour PAYE or £20.17 per hour including holiday pay or £22.00 per hour Umbrella PAYE

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and professional Enhanced DBS Sous Chef to join the team in Kettering. This is a full-time, temporary position with Monday to Friday working hours from 08:00 to 14:00. As the Sous Chef, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meals are prepared for students and staff, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the Head Chef in meal preparation, cooking, and menu planning
2. Ensuring food is prepared and served in compliance with health and safety regulations
3. Managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies
4. Leading and mentoring junior kitchen staff and kitchen assistants
5. Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and well-organised
6. Adhering to portion control and food costing
7. Ad hoc kitchen duties as required to support the team
Key Requirements:
1. Enhanced DBS check with Child Workforce (dated within the last 4 years)
2. A minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen management role
3. Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
4. Excellent communication, leadership, and team-working skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
6. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
