About Birdie
Birdie is the leading home healthcare technology platform that aims to radically transform the lives of older adults. Its all-in-one solution supports around 4.8 million (and growing) care visits every month, equipping care providers with the tools they need to deliver better quality care and improve efficiency across most day-to-day operations. This enables us to collect over 1.5 billion data points on care recipient wellbeing each year, making Birdie the holder of the largest structured community healthcare dataset in Europe.
Birdie was founded in 2017, a B-Corp certified company that leverages technology to reimagine home care. With a total raise to date of $55M, we secured our Series B funding in 2022 led by Sofina, Omers, and Index Ventures, fuelling our mission to transform care.
Recognised for its innovation and impact, we have received numerous accolades, including ranking 6th in the 2023 Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 and 21st in Deloitte's EMEA Technology Fast 500 in 2024. We joined Tech Nation's prestigious Future Fifty 2024 cohort and was featured in the Sifted 100 list of fastest-growing UK & Ireland startups in 2024. Furthermore, Birdie was named an NHS England Assured Supplier for Digital Social Care Records in 2023 and won the Innovative Solutions in Home Care Award at the 2024 Leaders in Care Awards.
Check out our principles and join us at Birdie as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in home healthcare. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of millions.
Your mission at Birdie
We strongly believe that data holds the key to unlock innovation in social care. It is the foundation of how we learn as a company as well as how we enable our customers to improve their services. Our applications and services generate a wealth of rich data - it is essential that we’re able to process, analyse & deliver as much of it as possible to improve the lives of older adults.
You will help maintain and build out our next-generation data platform enabling Birdie services to exchange data in real-time allowing product squads to quickly develop features building on information captured by other services. Your efforts will provide a variety of roles the ability to analyse and improve how users interact with Birdie products, as well as unlocking optimisations to our existing data mesh.
You’ll be working with our data engineering team and closely with the infrastructure and product squads to make sure that the right data is available at the right time to solve real customer problems.
How you will contribute
Your objectives when joining will be to:
* Maintain our data architecture using the right technologies to solve today’s problems as well as the problems Birdie will face in future:
o Birdie’s data footprint doubles every quarter so we need to use scalable technologies to ensure data remains readily accessible for our customers as well as Birdie employees.
o Our product architecture is becoming increasingly decentralised - it’s crucial that product services are able to reliably share datasets amongst each other in real time and with our analytics service.
* Build data infrastructure, tools & documentation - working with squads to:
o Reduce time taken to source, process, model and publish datasets.
o Improve the accuracy, reliability & re-usability of datasets.
* Enabling our partners to make data driven decisions by:
o Maintaining our current BI tooling.
o Investigating new approaches to drive adoption and impact.
* Enabling Birdie colleagues to make data driven decisions by:
o Publishing key data points in the tools they use everyday.
o Collating data into our customer data platform to enable valuable insights.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
Experience
