Aramark UK is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join the Sixes team at Sussex County Cricket Club.
Sixes Social Cricket combines great quality dining, a delicious drinks offering, with hospitality's newest and most exciting social entertainment concept.
Working with the Head Chef, you will assist with the preparation and delivery of services, with a passion for quality food and high standards of hospitality. This is is a great opportunity to be part of the new Sixes experience and showcase your culinary skills and creativity.
The hourly rate for this role is £17.00
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and plating, to meet quality and service standards.
* Supervise kitchen staff in the absence of the Head Chef, providing guidance, instruction, and support to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
* Ensure that all food preparation and cooking is done in accordance of the procedures and guidance of the Food Safety Management system.
* Coordinate with the Head Chef to establish and maintain kitchen procedures, including food safety protocols, portion control and inventory management.
* Assist the Head Chef in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed, and managing food costs to optimise profitability while minimising waste.
* Oversee the preparation of ingredients, ensuring accuracy, freshness, and proper handling in accordance with food safety regulations.
* Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff, providing feedback and coaching to foster skill development and enhance performance.
* Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, promotions, and themed nights, coordinating kitchen activities and menu offerings as required.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas, to uphold health and safety standards.
Key Attributes
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a restaurant, bar or hospitality setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and a creative approach to menu development and recipe execution.
* Leadership abilities with the capacity to supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
* Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
