You will be required to carry out Flick testing. A flick test is an emergency lighting test, sometimes referred to as a 'flash' test. It is conducted by temporarily switching off the building's power and checking whether emergency light fittings (also known as luminaires) remain illuminated. If the luminaires don't turn on or provide sufficient light, they need to be repaired or replaced.
The job will involve travelling around a particular region.
A duration test is when the batteries for emergency lights are fully drained to test if emergency lighting would work in the event of an emergency, such as a fire or power cut. Also referred to as a discharge test, it can help identify any issues with drainage, highlight battery life, or indicate if any lighting elements may be damaged and need to be replaced.
You will require a Level 3 electrical installation qualification, 18th Edition certification, and a valid driving licence.
