Job Opportunity: Technical Sales Executive
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Technical Sales Professional to join our dynamic and growing team within a fast-paced industry. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for career progression within 2-3 years for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, results-driven, and keen to develop within a technical sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop an in-depth understanding of the company's standard product portfolio, including air heaters and controls.
* Learn and utilise internal proposal programmes, costing, and heating calculations.
* Prepare quotations, specify heating equipment, and negotiate orders.
* Review and understand terms and conditions of sale.
* Follow up on quotations and respond to technical queries from customers.
* Identify potential leads, OEM customers, and establish a distribution network.
* Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for new markets and industries.
* Build and maintain relationships with existing customers within specific regions and industries.
* Conduct business development activities, including cold calling potential prospects.
* Arrange and attend customer meetings and presentations to promote company products and services.
* Monitor global oil and gas/petrochemical projects and industry trends.
* Focus on maximising potential sales opportunities with OEMs and related packagers in the UK and Europe.
* Research new leads, markets, and applications, and attend industry exhibitions across Europe.
* Produce monthly sales and activity reports.
* Collaborate with management to define and implement strategic growth plans.
* Support new product development initiatives.
* Ensure quotations meet customer requirements and comply with relevant industry regulations.
* Expect regular UK and EU travel as part of the role.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven track record in sales, with previous account management experience.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Experience in technical product sales, ideally in an external sales role.
* Ability to engage with senior management, technical teams, and customers effectively.
* Strong negotiation skills to position the company as a differentiated product provider.
* Analytical mindset with a results-driven approach.
* Tenacious and proactive in identifying and pursuing sales opportunities.
* Foreign language skills and knowledge of hazardous area certification would be advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence required.
