Job Summary
Pear Hospitality, a leading name in the hospitality industry, is seeking a talented and creative Sous Chef to join our team. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will deputise in his absence and help in overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, and ensuring high standards of quality and consistency. This role is for a new opening. You will be based at our Lion and Swan site for training until the new unit is up and running.
Duties
1. Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production.
2. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
3. Prepare and cook various dishes according to established recipes and menus.
4. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
5. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
6. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
7. Help manage kitchen schedules to ensure efficient workflow during service hours.
8. Provide leadership and support to team members, fostering a positive work environment.
Skills
1. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
2. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
3. Proficient in various cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
4. Experience in food production within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
5. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of culinary work.
6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate teamwork.
7. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to help others develop their skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
