Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional Service Led Head Chef who had a passion for delivering locally sourced, high quality fresh food, together with a track record of developing a team.
The Park Plaza Cardiff is a 4-star deluxe hotel situated in the heart of Cardiff City. The hotel is privately owned and offers 130-seater restaurant,180-seater bar & terrace, 129 guestrooms, a range of event facilities accommodating up to 150 guests for dinning and our luxurious Laguna Health & Spa. Over the past 20 years we have led the market and received recognition for our exceptional quality and our award-winning restaurant & bar.
What we are looking for: -
* Experience working in a premium high-volume restaurant is essential with hotel experience desirable.
* Ability to design menus using sustainable & ethically sourced produce whilst developing our food offering.
* Be creative, artistic & have outstanding presentation skills.
* Keeps abreast of new innovations and current trends.
* Be a strong leader who will develop, coach, motivate and train the team to achieve amazing results.
* Is self-motivated, confident to make decisions, takes initiative and ownership.
* Full responsibility for Health & Safety and Food Hygiene. (Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate).
* Responsibility for negotiating with suppliers, menu creation, food costings, payroll costings & expenses in conjunction with our Director of Finance.
* Assist with food stock take & analyse the result monthly.
* Full compliance with the business waste management systems.
* Foster a great working relationship with all departments within the business.
