We're currently recruiting aHead Chef for our Lucky Pig kitchen at Paradise Palms - a progressive and popular independent venue awarded Best Vegetarian Restaurantin Scotland in 2017, and again last year in 2023. Our food is American diner inspired comfort food, and we are proud to offer a veggie/vegan menu that appeals to our many regular omnivores, as well as those with a strictlyplant-based diet. Our menuevolvesseasonally with specials and desserts changingweekly. Were looking for someonedriven and enthusiasticto work alongside our Company Directors and Operations Manager, to help maintain our high standards and reputation. The restaurant will be open 7 days a week and serves both restaurant diners and banqueting food when we hold larger events. We are also in the process of working with our events team to expand our street food offerings, which will require menu developmenttrials in the kitchen and restaurant. Were looking for someone passionateabout food, with great communication skills and enthusiasm. Being vegetarian or vegan isn'ta requirement as we strive to make dishes that appeal to carnivores and all other dietaryneeds, but a successfulapplicant will need to be ready for the extra challenges this brings. We would like someone who is driven to progress personally, and also wants to help us as we grow and expand next year into a new venue and mobile events. With our planned expansion already being actioned, there is without doubt anopportunity to develop and grow within the company. As one of the country's best vegetarian/vegan restaurants, we value sustainability, creativity and attention todetail. We work with local suppliers and encourage specials that promote seasonality. We need someone equally skilled in kitchen and people management, and who can ensure that Paradise Palms is a safe, fun and exciting place to work. This leading role will encompass all aspects of kitchen operations: developing menus, managing stock and food costs at a profitable level, kitchen maintenance, H&S, staff training and rotas. It would be expected that these tasks would be completed whilst producing excellent world-class food from our busy fast-paced kitchen. It is paramount that you can work with a calm temperament in all the situations this job would offer. You would be expected to work well alongside a team in busy services and lead by example. We encourage upskilling the kitchen crew to create their own dishes and love everyone to be heard. You would need to haveprevious experience in a similar position within the industry, and have experience of role and tasks mentioned above. As you would be regularly liaising with the Company Directors and Ops Manager, knowledge of Microsoft is preferable.
