The Sous Chef will play a critical role in maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and service, contributing to a refined culinary experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food preparation and cooking meet the highest standards.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and refine menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and guest preferences.
* Ensure all dishes are prepared, cooked, and presented to the highest quality, with a focus on consistency and attention to detail.
* Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, including junior chefs and Commis Chefs.
* Monitor the quality and presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen, making sure they meet the establishment's standards.
* Oversight of stock levels, placing orders as necessary, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
* Ensure the kitchen complies with all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
* Assist in planning and execution of private events, banquets, and special dining experiences.
* Assist in managing kitchen budgets, including food costs, labour, and waste.
