Job Title: Head Chef Department: Restaurant & Bar Reporting to: Internal Operations Director
Hours: Full Time Position, 5 days per week including weekends (2 consecutive days off)
Salary: £42,000 plus dependent on candidate (Company pension, 28 days holiday including bank holiday)
Accommodation: If not local or able to travel from home, we would look to provide for the first 2 months, to allow candidate time to find own accommodation locally.
Start Date: Dependent on Candidate, position available immediately.
Key Aspects: Attention to Detail, Problem Solving and Efficiency, Team worker. Main purpose of the role: To manage all kitchen operations at a vibrant rural restaurant and bar, with high seasonal demands.
Key Responsibilities Staff Management; Recruiting, Training and day to day management of our team (Responsible for Kitchen Team) Compliance & EHO; Maintain and improve the current 5* Ratings. Menu Management; Drafting seasonal menus using local produce and providing a twist from the normal. Weekly specials are a must! Finance; Meeting a target of 70% GP and targets issued. Management of waste and reduce where possible. Managing costs and orders, working with suppliers to get the best price for the best quality. Compliance: Working with our HR & HSE managers to make sure all requirements are met Awards and Nominations;
The restaurant has received numerous awards over the year, and we expect the candidate to maintain this high standard alongside the hospitality manager. We are a rural family run business, that has thrived from exceeding clients expectations when they are with us. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to manage and run our busy kitchen and to develop the team within it. The candidate needs to have an understanding of rural communities and way of life to make sure we cater for the right market.
Over the initial 12months, we envisage the candidate to take on the current operations, review and improve them. We will have potential for progression depending on the candidates first 12months, with the company continuously developing its hospitality side of the business.
The candidate, needs to have the ability to problem solve and build relationships and respect from the team members and have a pro-active and positive approach to daily operations.
