Gaucho are looking for an experienced part time111 Pastry Chef to work in one of our Edinburgh restaurant You will need to have experience working in a fast paced, busy kitchen, and be keen to grow within the kitchen. Our Pastry Chef will be passionate about food and pastry, and will be able to deliver high quality dishes according to a spec. This is an exciting opportunity to join a Gaucho kitchen where you will have opportunity to develop and grow. Key Responsibilities of the Pastry Chef • Create and prepare desserts and pastries in accordance with the existent menus as well as specials • Inspect the quality of the ingredients and measure them for specific recipes • Plate desserts for serving • Basic understanding of the brand and the cookery. • To ensure the mise en place is performed to the high standard required at all times. • To maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and up keep of equipment. • To ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties are carried out as instructed by senior chefs. • To contribute to the building of the team and efficient team spirit and an active interest in employee’s welfare, safety and development. • To help and maintain a maximum yield in the kitchen in relation to the gross profit and wastage Requirements for Gaucho Pastry Chef • Have worked in a high-pressure kitchen environment • Will have a passion for pastry and desserts • Be organised and able to communicate effectively with a team.
