Role Overview: As the Engineering Training Manager, based at Edmonton Bus Garage, you will lead and shape our training strategy, ensuring that our engineers are equipped with the knowledge and certifications they need to support both current and future fleet requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading OEMs and apprenticeship providers, building an impactful training and upskilling program that will drive our workforce into the future. Key Responsibilities: Training Coordination: Collaborate with OEMs like Cummins, Volvo, and Wrightbus to plan and coordinate training sessions, ensuring we meet our annual training commitments for both hybrid and electric vehicle systems. Training Delivery Plan: Develop a structured training delivery and communication plan that aligns with business needs and enhances the skills of our engineering teams. Apprenticeship Program Management: Act as the key liaison with our apprenticeship provider, overseeing all aspects of the program to ensure that our apprentices receive high-quality, industry-relevant training. Certification Tracking: Create and maintain a comprehensive training database, managing certifications and generating a refresh schedule to ensure compliance and up-to-date skills across our workforce. Management Training Development: Design and deliver specialized training courses for frontline management, enhancing their leadership skills and technical knowledge. Qualifications: Strong background in engineering training or similar role, ideally within the transport or automotive industry. Proven experience working with OEMs and apprenticeship programs. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to design and manage training plans. Ability to act as a “train the trainer,” developing in-house capabilities and supporting team members.
