We are committed to the safeguarding, health and well-being of our students. JOB OVERVIEW You will be responsible for the day to day running of the catering in the kitchen, canteen & coffee bar. To ensure the 5 star rating awarded and inspected by Environmental Health Organisation, is maintained. To achieve a high level of quality and standards at all times regarding the food and hygiene, ensuring all health and safety procedures in relation to Catering are adhered to. You should be able to demonstrate good communication and leadership qualities, and to be able to understand and control your own budget. This role is a full-time position working on a two-week shift pattern covering morning, afternoon / evening and weekend shifts. The working pattern is 10 days on, 4 days off. The full shift pattern may be shared upon request. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Line Management of all catering & coffee bar staff as well as general participation within the Operations Department Responsible for imputing and agreeing targets for Catering Budgets and responsible for reviewing and keeping costs within agreed budgetary constraints. Overview of Health & Safety within the Catering team Management of catering staff within catering team, work schedules and overtime Computer literate and be able to submit staff sickness and holiday on ADP system & Induct staff on ADP use and how to submit timesheets Review of all HACCP, COSHH, Level 2 Hygiene, HIT Training & SFBB procedures, raising of new policies and procedures and implementing them To provide & produce meals at high volume, ensuring quality is maintained and value for money is achieved. To ensure all students & staff are getting a varied and balanced diet in accordance with the Government legislation requirements (food policy in schools / boarding standards agency Recommend and promote new menu ideas and special food events / cultural events and develop new recipe ideas and dishes for the diverse student ranges we have. To support the Operations manager and liaise with head chefs from other sites in the development of the food offering. To arrange student council meetings or to run catering surgeries on a fortnightly basis (within term time) gathering feedback from students.
* Previous experience in an educational / catering facilities environment is beneficial, along with a broad understanding of the associated regulations
