Net Talent is seeking a commercially experienced data engineer to join our team in Edinburgh or Glasgow and contribute to architectural and technical design decisions.
This role involves working with the latest tools and collaborating with software developers, modellers, core IT, and the wider business to deliver high-quality solutions.
To succeed in this position, you should have either experience working with Azure tools or an established background in Microsoft SQL database technologies and be excited about transitioning these skills to the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
* Designing and developing data-driven C# .NET applications, including data-driven dashboards, data processing applications, and secure data access tools.
* Integrating data-driven applications with different data sources, such as SQL databases, document databases (e.g., MongoDB, CosmosDB), and Parquet.
* Taking business applications and use cases and supporting their needs within appropriate data solutions while maintaining data integrity and provenance.
Desirable Skills
* Experience provisioning APIs for data consumption.
* Familiarity with web-based data visualization tools, such as HighCharts, and AngularJS front ends.
* Experience or familiarity with BI visualization tools, R, Python, Microsoft Power Apps, modelling, and data science practices.
* Familiarity with continuous integration, continuous delivery, agile methodologies, and Azure DevOps.
* Familiarity with optimising strategies, pipeline architectures, data sets, and ETL/ELT processes.
Technical Requirements
* Microsoft Fabric or its related technologies: Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure DW, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.
The estimated salary for this role is £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
