Base Salary of £38,000 plus Tips and Tronc (£3ph average) + Bonus
Total earning of £46,000+

At Church on the Hill, we are the beating heart and soul of Glasgow’s Southside community. A welcoming local pub where new customers are just ‘friends we haven’t made yet’ and regulars are greeted as family.
Our Menu comprises of elevated family favourites and traditional pub fare, freshly prepared with the finest local produce. We have 14 taps, consisting of bar staples to locally brewed small batch crafts. We also offer a cocktail menu consisting of both the Classics and a signature selection. We are proud to host the best beer garden in the Southside as well as being the place to be for all the big events at Hampden. We are big on sport and big on entertainment, hosting live music and DJ’s every weekend as well as multiple exciting events throughout the year.

Head Chef Duties
1. Kitchen Management – Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow, high food quality, and adherence to service times.
2. Menu Development & Planning – Create, plan, and update the menu, ensuring variety, cost-effectiveness, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
3. Staff Leadership & Training – Lead, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and professional development to ensure high standards of performance.
4. Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance – Ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, food safety standards, and proper equipment usage.
5. Inventory & Cost Control – Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control, ensuring that kitchen supplies are always available and costs are kept within budget.
Required Skills
1. Culinary Expertise – Strong knowledge and experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management, with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
2. Leadership & Team Management – Ability to lead and inspire a team, ensuring effective communication and a positive work environment in the kitchen.
3. Time Management & Organisation – Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple kitchen tasks efficiently, ensuring smooth service during busy periods.
4. Creativity & Innovation – Ability to develop new and exciting dishes while maintaining consistency, quality, and aligning with the restaurant’s concept.
5. Attention to Detail – A keen eye for detail in food presentation, portion sizes, and maintaining consistent quality in every dish served.
